Safety Escort

Operating from 7pm – 2:30am seven days a week, the Safety Escort provides a free ride to any student requesting it. This alternative allows students to have a method of traveling around campus in a safe and prompt manner. The safety escort can be reached at 480-965-1515. There currently are four dedicated safety escort vans in service

Service area is restricted to areas on campus. As such, their general boundaries are between Mill and Rural and between University and Apache. However, they do go farther north to serve Lot 59, the Brickyard, University Towers, and Karsten Golf Course as well as far south as Sonora, Vista Del Sol, and Adelphi.

Please note the following policies:

  • If a passenger vomits in a Safety Escort Vehicle, they will be subject to a $100 charge for clean up.
  • 3 person policy to brickyard/Chili’s is to allow individual parties of 1 to get rides in a timely fashion
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email the Safety Escort director at ses@asu.edu.

Final 2012 Update

Average wait time: 12.40 minutes

The reason we have had slower than average wait times this week was due to several of our vans needing maintenance. Our newest van suffered a battery failure and has made it back to our fleet starting tonight (October 9th). Our other two vans were in the shop for brake issues, axle issues, oil changes, filter changes and weather stripping. We are still waiting on one van to return from the shop but should see immediate improvement with a 3rd van ready for pick-ups.
